POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients facing unplanned pregnancies and to those seeking STI services. The Staff Nurse collaborates with medical and support teams to provide holistic, nonjudgmental support that aligns with the center's mission and values.
POSITION DETAILS & BENEFITS:
Type: Permanent, Part-Time, 18-22 hours/week, three days a week including Tuesday and (potentially Wednesday) evenings. First Tuesday of the month: all team meeting attendance required.
Reports To: Nurse Manager & Medical Director
Benefits: Accrued sick leave (HWFA), FAMLI leave, paid major holidays (if scheduled), and board-approved paid Christmas break (~2 weeks).
$33/hour
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Patient Care & Education
-Provide pregnancy testing, education on pregnancy complications, and evidence-based information on abortion risks and procedures as indicated.
-Adhere to the “Focus” process for pregnancy appointments (Speravita).
-Perform limited ultrasounds (or complete training to become certified) per Medical Director protocols.
-Perform STI risk assessments, testing, treatment, and sexual health education.
-Provide phone or telehealth triage, record health histories, and conduct patient follow-ups as appropriate.
-Collaborate with Intake Specialists and nursing staff to coordinate referrals and allocate resources.
Clinical Oversight & Leadership
-Occasionally serving as a nurse lead, oversee daily clinical operations, workflow, and staffing.
-Participate in med team meetings, monthly staff meetings, 1:1s, model days, the annual meeting, and the gala.
-Cover shifts for peer nurses as needed.
-Compliance & Quality Control
-Maintain accurate electronic medical records and adhere to standardized procedures.
-Ensure strict adherence to privacy laws (HIPAA or state-mandated), OSHA standards, infection control guidelines, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
-Assist with clinical procedure updates, audits, incident reporting, and AAAHC accreditation efforts.
-Track clinical data and maintain logs as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

-Professional & Clinical Requirements
-License: Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license.
-Certifications: Current CPR/BLS certification; Limited Ultrasound certification preferred (or willingness to complete within 3–6 months with a 1-year post-training commitment).
Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy, basic spreadsheet use, and clinical triage.
Experience: Leadership or Charge Nurse experience preferred.
