POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a full-time position in the Bureau of Professional Development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Processing routine correspondence, investigating subject matter and preparing replies;
- Monitoring BPD budgets (FCJEI Trust Fund and BPD);
- Maintaining a spreadsheet of current expenses, and projecting future expenditures;
- Maintaining office schedule by reviewing and updating calendars;
- Preparing agenda items for staff meetings, FCJEI Policy Board meetings, Training Center Directors Association meetings and producing minutes for each meeting;
- Advertising all FCJEI meetings in the Florida Administrative Register;
- Preparing meeting packets for FCJEI Policy Board members and staff;
- Moniroring appointment and reappointment paperwork for FCJEI Policy Board members;
- Ensuring that the BPD calendars are populated with appropriate leave and training; and
- Monitoring, tracking and providing correspondence related to nominations and appointments of FCJEI Policy Board Members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices;
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing or report writing;
- Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques; and
- Ability to work independently.

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
