Our core services include masonry, stucco/EIFS, siding, waterproofing, sealants among other scopes. We perform work across multiple states and continue to expand our capabilities. We are strengthening the financial leadership, controls, and systems needed to support disciplined growth without losing the practical culture that built the company.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Vice President of Finance to join our executive leadership team. With our current expansion, the VP of Finance will lead the financial function across multiple states and serve as a strategic partner to ownership and operations. The VP of Finance will protect the company’s financial strength, improve project and cash flow visibility, and build the infrastructure required for scalable and sustainable growth.
The VP of Finance will provide leadership, controls, and financial review while remaining hands on in the day-to-day operations with our current controller. The right candidate must understand and be able to support and develop the individual financial roles and improve the system without forcing a fixed corporate playbook.
What You Will Lead:
• Partners with ownership and executive leadership on financial strategy, growth planning, pricing, capital allocation, major purchases, and risk.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario modeling, and executive financial reporting.
• Own the monthly WIP process, including job cost, percent complete revenue recognition, cost to complete, backlog, retainage, billings, and projected margin.
• Facilitate project financial reviews with project managers and operations leaders; identify margin fade, labor or material exposure, pending change orders, underbilling’s, and collection risk.
• Maintain weekly cash forecasting and longer-range liquidity planning; manage working capital, treasury, debt, credit facilities, covenant compliance, and collection strategy.
• Direct accounting operations, payroll oversight, internal controls, audits, tax coordination, and multistate compliance, including registrations, sales and use tax, insurance, and project specific requirements.
• Own relationships with banks, lenders, sureties, bonding partners, insurance brokers, external accountants, and advisors; protect and expand credit and bonding capacity.
• Oversee the financial side of insurance, enterprise risk, significant contracts, major commitments, and claims support.
• Lead and support the existing bookkeeper; establish clear standards for closing, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, job cost accuracy, controls, and reporting; improve QuickBooks setup and use.
Required Qualifications:
• Three to five years of executive financial leadership experience as a Vice President of Finance, Director of Finance, or equivalent, with direct responsibility for companywide financial strategy, cash flow, banking, bonding, risk management, and advising ownership. Experience limited primarily to controllership or accounting operations will not satisfy this requirement.
• Strong understanding of the business and operational aspects of the construction industry.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Colorado, with travel to project sites and partner locations as needed.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction job costing, WIP reporting, percent complete revenue recognition, cost to complete forecasting, backlog, retainage, project cash flow, and margin analysis.
• Can demonstrate responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial reporting, closing processes, audits, tax coordination, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting construction operations across multiple states, including coordination of state and local tax, payroll, registrations, insurance, and other compliance requirements.
• Proven experience managing banking, credit facilities, surety and bonding relationships, covenant reporting, and working capital requirements.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks, including chart of accounts, job costing, month end close, reconciliations, controls, and financial reporting, plus strong spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
• Experience integrating financial and accounting systems with other business platforms, such as payroll, project management, estimating, or field operations software, to improve data flow and reporting accuracy.
• A record of developing teams and improving processes, combined with integrity and communication skills to advise ownership and partner with project and field leaders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA, CMA, or MBA credential.
• Experience configuring or improving QuickBooks for a self-performing specialty contractor and connecting it with payroll, expense, or other construction systems.
• Experience supporting geographic expansion, new business lines, acquisitions, or other significant growth initiatives.
The Leadership Style We Value:

The right VP of Finance will listen before prescribing, preserve what works, improve what does not, and challenge assumptions when needed. Solutions should be practical, scalable, and appropriate for a growing construction company.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Base salary range: $140,000 - $160,000
Benefits: Structured bonus plan, Learning and Development Benefits, Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401K
