MARKET + ICE CREAM COUNTER — ZINQUÉ NEWPORT BEACH
We’re opening a small market inside Zinqué Newport Beach in Lido Marina Village, with a selection of wine, cheese, charcuterie, pantry items and especially house-made ice cream and frozen yogurt.
We’re looking for someone to run the counter who is friendly, outgoing, fast and genuinely enjoys talking to people.
This is part specialty market, part ice cream counter and part neighborhood hangout. You’ll help guests choose a bottle of wine, put together cheese and charcuterie purchases, serve ice cream, keep the counter looking beautiful and make people want to come back.
You don’t need to be a sommelier or cheese expert—we can teach you the products—but you should be curious about food and wine and excited to learn.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has retail, café, restaurant or counter-service experience
Has a warm, outgoing personality and loves interacting with guests
Can work quickly while keeping the experience relaxed and friendly
Is comfortable handling a busy ice cream counter during peak hours
Is organized, clean and attentive to presentation
Can learn our wines, cheeses, charcuterie and other products and confidently talk about them with guests
Is comfortable with POS systems and handling transactions
Can manage several guests and orders at the same time
Understands basic food safety and Health Department standards
Is reliable and available for a flexible schedule, including weekends
Has or can obtain a California Food Handler Card
Wine knowledge and French are both a plus, but not required
Most importantly, we want someone with good energy—someone people enjoy buying an ice cream or a bottle of wine from.
