ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURABLES:
Safety Compliance:
Consistently wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) each day.
Proactively identify and report any safety hazards to the immediate supervisor for timely resolution.
Operate within the framework of all safety and housekeeping policies outlined by the company, ensuring a clean, secure, and organized work environment.
Adhere to all safety requirements and policies, including the completion of daily checklists to ensure a secure work environment.
Quality Assurance & Product Inspection:
Adhere to all work instructions relevant to the job, producing parts without defects.
Alert the supervisor promptly if a part is identified as nonconforming, maintaining high-quality standards.
Utilize precision measuring instruments to meticulously measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects, ensuring strict adherence to specifications.
Ensure strict adherence to specifications, maintaining high-quality standards in the production process.
Assume responsibility for the quality of products, actively contributing to meeting company objectives of maintaining a shipment rate below 2500 parts per million (ppm).
Assure adherence to AS9100D, maintaining compliance with quality management system standards.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives as directed by the company, contributing to the enhancement of processes and efficiency.
Machinist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Complete ongoing Machinist Training Courses as scheduled and approved by the Director of Operations.
Operate NC mills, NC lathes, drill/tap machines, and other equipment as instructed.
Utilize various tools, including calipers, depth micrometers, height gauges, etc., to ensure precision in machining processes.
Use the in-process sheet to record and monitor close tolerance dimensions, maintaining accuracy throughout machining operations.
Record accurate data on the build plan, including time, quantity, scrap, and any relevant comments, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
Meet production goals outlined in the plan, ensuring the timely delivery of scheduled parts.
Achieve time and efficiency standards specified for each production order, aligning with actual standards on the build plan and machine capability.
Ability to operate one or more machines, as required by schedule.
Varied Responsibilities
Perform any other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the production process.
Consistently show up on time for work each day, adhering to the established schedule.
Ability to work irregular shifts, as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school graduate preferred.
Minimum 0 to 1-year experience in a machine shop.
Able to communicate both written and verbally in English
Basic math skills.
Inspection knowledge.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., regularly.
Must be able to work standing up for long hours.
