Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, remote role responsible for defining and executing FirstLight Home Care’s technology vision in alignment with the organization’s mission and growth strategy. This role oversees the design, development, and maintenance of software platforms and tools that support caregivers, clients, and internal teams. The CTO leads technology architecture decisions, ensures systems are secure and scalable, and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products and services. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing software engineering efforts, partnering with operations and business leaders on IT strategy, prioritizing technology projects, and optimizing processes through data, automation, and innovation. The CTO also builds and mentors a high-performing technology team, manages vendor relationships, and continuously evaluates emerging technologies to enhance care delivery and business performance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in software development, including leading engineering teams and delivering reliable, scalable applications.
- Proficiency in project management, with experience overseeing complex, cross-functional technology initiatives from concept to launch.
- Strong IT strategy skills, with a track record of aligning technology roadmaps with organizational goals and operational needs.
- Hands-on experience in technology architecture and systems design, ensuring secure, integrated, and future-ready platforms.
- Background in product development, including defining requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and iterating based on user feedback.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including team building, coaching, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value.
- Experience in healthcare, home care, or a related service industry is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
