Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Assistant Director of Finance to join our organization. The Assistant Director of Finance supports the financial operations of the home health agency by overseeing daily bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll support, and administrative functions. This role serves as a trusted financial and administrative partner to leadership, ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and efficient office operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, bilingual in English and Spanish, and has experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, and executive administrative support. A CPA license is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
- Perform daily bookkeeping, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare financial reports for management review.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budget preparation and tracking.
- Process invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely employee payments.
- Support external accountants during tax preparation and annual audits.
Administrative & Executive Support
- Provide executive-level administrative support to agency leadership.
- Coordinate meetings, calendars, and financial documentation.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and confidential documents.
- Maintain organized financial and administrative filing systems.
- Assist with contract management and vendor communications.
- Support special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and agency financial policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, and financial information.
- Assist with Medicaid and insurance billing support as needed.
- Help develop and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with clinical, billing, and administrative departments to support operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or financial administration.
- Experience providing executive or personal assistant support to senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software (QuickBooks or similar).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
