Role Description
The Director of Marketing & Communications is a leadership position responsible for developing and executing MCSI’s marketing, branding, and communications strategy. This role will help increase organizational awareness, strengthen MCSI’s digital presence, and expand engagement with students, partners, and the broader professional community.
The Director will oversee marketing initiatives across digital platforms, coordinate promotional campaigns, maintain consistent brand messaging, and collaborate with executive leadership and committees to support organizational goals.
Responsibilities include developing content strategies, managing social media presence, creating promotional materials, supporting recruitment initiatives, promoting educational programs and events, and analyzing engagement metrics to improve outreach efforts.
This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in brand development, nonprofit marketing, communications strategy, and organizational growth within a student-led finance organization.

This position is designed for students and emerging professionals seeking meaningful leadership experience, professional development, and the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a mission-driven finance organization.
While this position does not include monetary compensation, selected candidates will receive valuable experience in marketing strategy, leadership, portfolio development, networking, and organizational management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute MCSI’s marketing and communications strategy.
- Manage and grow MCSI’s digital presence across platforms including LinkedIn and other social media channels.
- Create professional marketing materials, announcements, and promotional campaigns.
- Establish consistent branding standards across organizational communications.
- Support recruitment initiatives to increase student involvement and membership growth.
- Collaborate with executive leadership and committees to promote events, workshops, and initiatives.
- Assist with partnership and sponsorship outreach through strategic communication efforts.
- Monitor engagement metrics and analyze audience insights to improve marketing performance.
- Research trends in student engagement, finance education, and digital marketing.
- Help develop long-term strategies to strengthen MCSI’s public presence.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong interest in marketing, communications, branding, and organizational growth.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience developing marketing strategies, campaigns, or brand initiatives.
- Experience managing social media platforms or digital communities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create professional content and adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Understanding of digital marketing principles, audience engagement, and analytics.
- Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, LinkedIn analytics, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a student-led leadership environment.
- Prior leadership experience in clubs, organizations, startups, nonprofits, or professional settings is preferred.
Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate previous experience, examples of work, or a portfolio showcasing marketing, communications, branding, or leadership capabilities.
