Taking place from August 5 to 16, 2026, this dynamic event offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major cultural festival that showcases diverse cinematic works. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the festival, engaging with guests and participants, and creating memorable experiences for all attendees. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about film, community engagement, and event management who want to be part of an inspiring celebration of cinema’s power to connect people.
Responsibilities
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including manual handling of equipment and materials to ensure efficient preparation and cleanup.
- Provide excellent guest services by welcoming attendees, guiding them through the festival schedule, and answering questions with enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Support event operations by managing ticketing and cash handling at entrances or designated areas.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed by applying conflict management skills and providing first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Help coordinate activities across different festival venues, including managing crowd flow and assisting with logistics for screenings, panels, and workshops.
- Support food service operations during festival events by assisting with food distribution and maintaining hospitality standards.
- Engage with participants of all ages, including working with children during family-friendly screenings or activities, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Skills
- Strong background in events management and logistics coordination to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest experiences.
- Ability to manage conflicts calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- First aid and CPR certification are highly desirable to ensure safety during large gatherings.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods throughout the event days.
- Experience in theater or film festivals is a plus, along with hospitality or resort experience that demonstrates comfort in fast-paced environments.
- Public speaking skills to assist with announcements or guiding audiences confidently through various festival segments.
