Pastry Lead – Zov's Tustin Bakery
Zov's is seeking a talented and driven Pastry Lead to help build and run the bakery program at our Tustin location. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to bake, takes pride in quality, and is ready to step into a leadership position in a kitchen with real creative energy.
About the Role
As Pastry Lead, you'll be at the center of our bakery operation — executing daily production, developing and refining our pastry offerings, and helping grow a small team. You'll report directly to the General Manager and work closely with culinary leadership to ensure the bakery reflects Zov's standards for quality, consistency, and guest experience.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Production & Execution
Lead daily pastry production including individual desserts, cookies, tarts, small-format cakes, and Mediterranean-inspired pastries
Maintain consistent quality, portioning, and presentation across all bakery items
Manage prep schedules, par levels, and production timelines to ensure the case is always stocked and display-ready
Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all bakery product
Team Leadership & Training
Train, guide, and support bakery staff on recipes, techniques, and Zov's standards
Foster a positive, organized, and efficient work environment
Lead by example on cleanliness, sanitation, and professionalism
Communicate daily priorities and delegate tasks effectively
What We're Looking For
2+ years of professional pastry or baking experience, preferably in a bakery or restaurant setting
Strong foundational skills in pastry techniques, doughs, custards, and confections
Experience leading or mentoring a small team
Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
Passion for quality ingredients, authentic flavors, and beautiful presentation
Flexible availability including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time hourly position
Schedule includes early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
