FULL-TIME JR. PROCESSOR / CUSTOMER SERVICE / OFFICE ADMIN
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
***PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE JOB POSTING BEFORE APPLYING***
You'd be surprised how many people see a job title, get excited, smash the Apply button, attach a random file they think is their resume, and call it a day.
Don't be that person.
There are specific instructions at the end of this posting that must be included with your application. If you don't read the entire post, you'll miss them... and unfortunately, that's usually the fastest way to land in the "Nope!" pile.
The funny part? Most people still won't read this. Some will even tell us they're interested without attaching a resume.
Your very first test is simple:
Can you follow directions?

***PAY***
During your 90-day probationary period, pay is approximately $3,000 per month TAKE-HOME (NET), not gross, based on $17/hour.
After your probationary period, you'll begin earning bonuses based on your client load and performance. Most processors earn an additional $500-$1,500 per month, with someone who's simply "pretty good" realistically earning an extra $500-$1,000/month on top of their base pay.
You'll also receive:
• Annual raises based on performance
• Christmas bonuses
• Other opportunities to increase your income as you grow with us

***WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR***
We're a small company of 13 people, so we aren't just looking for another employee.
We're looking for another family member...
...someone who can fit in with our personalities, argue with us over stupid office debates, laugh at inappropriate jokes, and still get their work done. 😂
This person will become the 7th member of our processing department, and 14th employee.
Your day will mostly consist of:
• Calling new clients and welcoming them
• Providing status updates to existing clients
• Collecting and organizing documents
• Working directly with homeowners and mortgage lenders
• Keeping detailed notes in our software
• General office and administrative duties
And then there are the other random things that happen around a small office...
Like:
• Printing envelopes for our marketing department
• Making Post Office runs
• Organizing deliveries of paper and envelopes
• Costco runs
• Starbucks runs
• Picking up lunch for the office
• Running the occasional errands
• Helping cleaning up after office lunches
• Being the tie-breaker in office arguments
• Finding out the latest gossip from the neighboring offices 😉
Welcome to small business life.

***QUALIFICATIONS***
We're honestly much more interested in personality than experience (we'll teach you the job--what we can't teach is common sense, work ethic, and reliability).
Some things that will help you succeed:
• Time Management (Eventually you'll be handling a fairly large client load, so you'll need to stay organized and prioritize your work).
• Active Listening (Clients don't always know how to explain their situation. Sometimes you'll need to calm them down, answer difficult questions, and occasionally pull something out of your ass that sounds good while you figure out the real answer. 😂).
• Attention to Detail (detailed notes are everything in our business).
• Computer Skills
• There is a lot of typing (You don't need to be lightning fast, but we'd like to see around 30-40 WPM with good accuracy).
• Patience (Our clients are often stressed because they're facing foreclosure. Sometimes they'll be emotional. Keeping calm goes a long way.)

***WHAT WE DO***
We work with homeowners who are behind on their mortgage payments and facing foreclosure.
We communicate directly with their mortgage companies to help them explore options such as:
• Loan Modifications
• Forbearance Plans
• Bankruptcy Referrals
• Reinstatement Plans
• Stopping Foreclosure Sales
• Other foreclosure-prevention solutions
Clients hire us because they need someone knowledgeable in their corner.

***OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE***
Reliability matters.
If you're someone who regularly calls in sick, frequently asks for days off, or struggles to show up on time, this probably isn't the right fit.
Obviously, life happens. If you're a single parent, for example, and your kids are constantly getting sick—or bringing guns to school (yes, that actually happened with a new hire that didn't work out😂)—and you're getting called to leave work and pick them up, obviously that's not YOUR fault. You can't control everything that happens in your life.
BUT! At the end of the day, those circumstances are still part of the "package" you come with, and they still affect whether you're able to reliably be here and do the job. That's really what we're looking at. It's not about blaming someone for things outside of their control; it's about whether their current situation realistically works with what this position requires.
So if life circumstances regularly cause you to miss work, leave early, come in late, or unexpectedly need days off—even when you have completely legitimate reasons—we're probably just not going to be a good fit for each other.
If you're averaging more than 1-2 absences per month, this position probably isn't going to work for either of us.
Personality matters just as much.
If you're looking for a polished corporate environment with an HR department to run to when your co-worker or supervisor says something inappropriate to you...
This is NOT that office. We are probably not going to be a good fit.
We're relaxed.
We're sarcastic.
We joke around.
Sometimes we're inappropriate! lol!
We're close friends (some of us).
We're like family. We fight, we argue, and then we move on.
As long as work gets done and our clients are taken care of, we're pretty laid back.
Some people might absolutely love that.
Others might hate it.
We'd rather find out now. This is why this job posting is written the way it is! It's kind of like a pre-screen! We rather you not waste your time (and ours!) applying for a job, interviewing for a position that isn't going to work out for either of us.
_____________________________________________________________________________
***OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY***
Our clients.
That's it.
They pay us a lot of money to help them.
As long as:
• Work is getting done
• Deadlines are being met
• Clients feel taken care of
...everything else usually works itself out.

***WHAT WE OFFER***
• 5 Paid PTO/Vacation Days to start
• Paid major holidays
• Annual raises
• Christmas bonus
• Annual Summer Picnic
• Annual Christmas Party
• Relaxed work environment
• Nice office
• Dual-monitor workstation with fancy high-end computer stuff like mice and keyboards
• Your own 6' x 8' cubicle
• A TEAM THAT ACTUALLY ENJOYS COMING TO WORK AND WORKING TOGETHER

***HEALTH INSURANCE***
Because this position is 1099, we don't provide employer-sponsored health insurance.
However, we're happy to help you obtain excellent coverage through Covered California.
Most of our office has Blue Shield through Covered California and has had great experiences with it. And pays a fraction for it because we can manipulate your income to get the most kickback for it.
Personally, I think private insurance is often better than many employer plans—but that's just my opinion. If you're curious, I'm happy to explain why during the interview.

***A LITTLE ABOUT US***
Serenity Financial recently celebrated its 12th anniversary.
We're proud of what we've built, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We're not just hiring someone to answer phones or push paperwork.
We're hiring someone who's going to become part of the team.
Work hard.
Laugh hard.
Take care of clients.
Repeat.

***BEFORE YOU APPLY...***
One last reminder...
This is an ENTRY-LEVEL position.
If you're expecting significantly more money than what's listed, this probably isn't the right opportunity.
We've had applicants spend half the interview trying to negotiate the starting pay because they have years of experience, managed a million people, turned $1 into $1 billion for their last company, or single-handedly saved the entire organization from impending doom. 😂
We respect your experience and your accomplishments—we really do. But the bottom line is that none of that changes what this particular position is or what we're offering for it.
This is an entry-level position with a set starting pay. We're looking for someone who understands that going in and is comfortable with the opportunity as it's being offered—not someone who plans to spend the interview convincing us that their previous experience should change the position or starting compensation.
So if you're that person... that's great!
You may absolutely deserve more.
But this isn't that position.
We're a small company.
The number is the number.
If the starting pay works for you, awesome.
If it doesn't, no hard feelings.
Let's save each other the time.

***IF YOU MADE IT THIS FAR...***
...and you're STILL interested after reading all of this madness...
CONGRATULATIONS! 😂
You just survived the first part of the interview.
Now we'd like three things from you (two things!):
1. Your Resume
2. A Short Video — Around 2–3 Minutes (And in that video, we'd like you to answer these three questions):
#1 — What stood out to you MOST about this job posting (Out of everything you just read, what caught your attention? What made you think, "Okay... this place actually sounds interesting")?
#2 — Why do you think you'd be a great fit for this office (Not just why you think you can do the job. Why do you think YOU would fit in here)?
#3 — Tell us a little about YOU.
And this is where you can have some fun with it.
What do you do for fun?
What does a typical Friday or Saturday night look like for you?
Do you have pets?
Hobbies?
Married? Kids? Straight? Gay? Lopsided? Weird? Emo? 😂
Do you talk too much?
Can you be inappropriate?
Are you annoying sometimes? Lol!
Any random, weird, funny, or completely boring facts about yourself?
Seriously... tell us whatever.
We're not looking for some perfectly rehearsed, corporate interview answer. We already have your resume—which probably says the same bullshit every other resume says: you're amazing, you're a hard worker, you're a team player, you're perfect for the job, you're looking for a company you can "grow with," you give 110%, blah, blah, blah. 😂Everyone says the same shit and yours is probably no different. Probably has some exaggerated truths or some flat out lies as well! 😂
We get it. Resumes are basically advertisements where everyone is magically an incredible employee with no flaws whatsoever.
That's NOT what we're looking for here.
We want to know who you actually are when you're NOT trying to convince someone to hire you.
We want to get a feel for YOU—your personality, your sense of humor, how you communicate, and what you're actually like as a person.
So don't overthink it.
Just be yourself.
Seriously...
We can teach almost anyone this job.
What we really want to know is who you are.
You can send your video using:
• iCloud Link
• Google Photos
• YouTube
• Or attach the video directly (if your email provider allows it)
Most email providers won't accept files larger than about 25MB, which is why we recommend sending a link instead.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks!
John
