Lead the Finance Function of a High-Growth Financial Technology Company.
Our client is seeking an accomplished finance executive to lead the accounting and finance organization of an established financial technology company serving the wealth management industry. This position is intended for seasoned leaders who have successfully managed the accounting function of a software or fintech organization and have served as a strategic business partner to executive leadership.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Vice President, Accounting & Finance will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, payroll, tax compliance, and internal controls. The successful candidate will possess deep technical accounting expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team.
This is not a developmental management position. Candidates must have recent experience leading the accounting function within a software, SaaS, fintech, or financial services technology company.
Responsibilities:
Lead all accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, payroll, budgeting, tax compliance, and internal controls.
Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely, accurate GAAP financial reporting.
Prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple reporting entities.
Develop annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and executive reporting packages.
Establish financial metrics and operating benchmarks to support executive decision-making.
Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures.
Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business performance, profitability, and strategic initiatives.
Identify opportunities to automate accounting processes and improve operational efficiency through technology.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while establishing accountability and succession planning.
Serve as the primary accounting advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team.
Requirements:
· Active CPA license (required).
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Master's degree preferred.
· 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
· At least 7 years of leadership experience managing professional accounting teams.
· Recent experience as a Controller, VP of Accounting, Assistant CFO, or equivalent senior finance executive.
· Significant accounting leadership experience within a software, SaaS, fintech, or financial services technology company.
· Extensive experience preparing and overseeing GAAP consolidated financial statements for multiple legal entities.
· Demonstrated ownership of annual audits and successful interaction with external auditors.
· Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance.
· Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and Boards of Directors on financial strategy and reporting.
· Proven experience implementing or significantly enhancing ERP or financial reporting systems.
· Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience in wealth management, investment management, brokerage, banking, or financial services technology.
· Experience scaling finance organizations during periods of company growth.
· Background supporting mergers, acquisitions, or corporate integrations.
· Experience with private equity-backed or high-growth companies.
