JOB DESCRIPTION:
Role and Responsibilities
Maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions.
Reconciles bank accounts monthly in QuickBooks.
Prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Follows bookkeeping procedures established by the Association.
Performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.
Reviews, codes and verifies transactions and journal entries.
Completes moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools.
Processes accounts receivable transactions.
Receives, verifies and pays invoices in a timely manner.
Reviews requests, prepares, processes and distributes accounts payable payments.
Maintains the general ledger and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner.
Analyzes and ensures compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Responds to internal and external inquiries on payments
Directs the financial affairs of the organization in conjunction with the CEO, finance committee and board of directors.
Signs off on the accuracy and veracity of financial statements, records, and reports.
Manages the Association’s financial resources and ensures operations comply with financial regulations and standards.
Analyzes and interprets financial data to advise and support strategic decision-making and achieve business objectives.
Researches and promotes financial modeling and analytical tools to measure and forecast the impact of various economic scenarios, risks, and business changes.
Researches and recommends investment options that provide greater return on investments.
Reviews financial reports and forecasts to understand variances and identify areas to improve efficiency or implement cost savings.
Develops processes, policies, and controls to manage workflow and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.
Maintain accurate and up-to -date financial records, including invoices, purchase orders, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank statements.
Process and record financial transactions including journal entries and general ledger entries, when needed.
Prepare and analyze financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Resolve account discrepancies and general ledger entries, as needed.
Assist organization’s accountant in preparing financial statements for tax filings.
Stay updated on accounting principles and regulations to ensure compliance.
Develop and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with team members to provide financial insight and support decision making.
Process and monitor biweekly payroll.
Provide monthly update of expenses to Treasurer.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· Minimum 3 years’ accounting or financial management experience.
Preferred Skills
· Adheres to and keeps abreast of GAAP standards.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Has an advanced understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
· Account and bank reconciliation, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, balance sheet analysis and expense management knowledge.
· Excellent skills in MS Excel, QuickBooks and Payroll Software.
· Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets clearly and effectively
· Exceptional communication skills to present financial insights confidently across all levels of the organization
· Ability to lead teams proactively while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Pay: $63,000.00 - $76,000.00 per year
