Our client is seeking a President & General Manager Americas to lead the North American business and take it through its next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the Group CEO and serving on the Executive Board, the successful candidate will hold full legal entity accountability for the U.S. and Mexico operations and align North American priorities with global strategy. This is a top-management role for a leader who can combine commercial growth with operational discipline in a lean, matrix organization.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned executive with deep experience in industrial and/or automotive environments and a proven record of P&L ownership and business growth. They will bring strong commercial and customer-facing leadership, the ability to lead through influence across a global matrix, and genuine cross-border capability. Above all, they will pair strategic perspectives with hands-on, pragmatic execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for the North American organization, ensuring strong governance, business performance, and alignment with global objectives.
- Develop and execute regional strategy in close partnership with the global Business Units, identifying opportunities to expand market presence and strengthen and diversify the customer base.
- Translate strategic priorities into pragmatic execution and measurable business outcomes across the region.
- Serve as the senior representative to key customers, suppliers, and partners, building executive-level relationships and managing critical escalations.
- Lead and align the regional leadership team, fostering accountability, ownership, and a customer-focused, solution-oriented culture.
- Coordinate effectively across the U.S. legal entity and Mexico manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless collaboration within a matrix structure.
- Provide oversight of supporting functions, including Finance and HR, while maintaining lean and effective decision-making.
Key Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in general management, operations, or business unit leadership, with direct P&L ownership and accountability for business performance.
- A strong track record in industrial and/or automotive environments, ideally with exposure to electric drive systems, mechatronics, or related component technologies.
- Demonstrated commercial and key account leadership, including building sales, structuring deals, and driving market development.
- Proven ability to lead within a global or matrix organization, influencing and aligning diverse stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
- Experience working with Mexican operations and a strong understanding of the cultural, regulatory, and management differences between Mexico and the United States, strongly preferred.
- A proven turnaround or transformation capability, combining strategic judgment with a hands-on, execution-focused approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field required; a master's or MBA preferred.
