About the Role
The Director of Information Technology will own the full IT function for a growing, multi‑location organization. This leader will drive technology strategy, modernize infrastructure, manage vendors and MSP relationships, and introduce practical AI capabilities across the business. The role blends strategic leadership with hands‑on execution and offers a clear path to expanded executive responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy
- Develop and own a multi‑year IT roadmap aligned to business goals.
- Establish governance, standards, policies, and KPIs for a 250+ person environment.
- Translate business needs into technology decisions and investments.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and grow the internal IT team, beginning with an on‑site support specialist.
- Define roles, hire talent, and build a service‑oriented culture.
- Vendor & MSP Ownership
- Serve as the single point of accountability for all technology vendors and the MSP.
- Manage contracts, performance, service levels, and cost effectiveness.
- Microsoft 365 & Cloud Environment
- Administer and govern Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and iOS endpoints.
- Drive adoption, security, identity management, and data organization.
- Intranet & Workflow Automation
- Build and maintain a SharePoint‑based intranet for communication and document management.
- Identify and automate manual workflows across departments.
- ERP Ownership
- Serve as the business owner of the ERP system, ensuring clean integrations, data integrity, and operational efficiency.
- AI & Innovation
- Lead responsible adoption of AI tools across the organization.
- Identify high‑value use cases and establish governance and training.
- Infrastructure & Cybersecurity
- Own networks, servers, cloud, endpoints, telephony, and connectivity.
- Oversee cybersecurity, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Ensure reliable end‑user support across office, field, and shop environments.
Qualifications
- Required
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in leadership.
- Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Strong infrastructure, cybersecurity, and continuity fundamentals.
- Experience managing vendors/MSPs and leading small teams.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Preferred
- ERP administration experience.
- Background supporting hybrid/remote environments.
- Relevant certifications (M365, Azure, security, ITIL).
- Experience modernizing legacy environments and deploying AI tools.
