A high-volume restaurant group in Pacific Beach is hiring a smashburger chef to run the kitchen.
Simple concept, big room, one thing done great: smash burgers and fries. That's the whole menu, and we're going to be slammed. We need a cook who lives for that. Somebody who can own the flattop all day, crank out perfect smashes and fries without the quality slipping when it's out the door, and run the kitchen while they're at it.
This is a cook's job and a boss's job. You're on the line, not behind a desk. You also run the kitchen, the ordering, prep, par levels, your crew, and keeping the line tight at rush.
Here's the part worth paying attention to: this is the first of more. We're planning to open more of this concept over the next couple years, and whoever runs this kitchen well is first in line to lead what comes next. Get in at the ground floor and grow with it.
If this is you, you already know it. You're fast and dead consistent, you've run a busy kitchen before, you order so you never run out and never over-buy, and you take pride in doing one thing better than anybody else. No egos, no coasting, no excuses when it gets busy.
Pay is $20–28/hour depending on experience, plus real room to move up as the company grows.
