We are seeking a Data Center Technician with hands-on experience in server hardware, rack/stack, cabling, diagnostics, deployments, and data center operations.
Responsibilities:
- Install, stage, start up, shut down, and decommission servers, racks, drives, and switches.
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, root-cause analysis, and component replacement.
- Complete cabling, labeling, grounding, and post-deployment quality checks.
- Support server refresh activities such as memory upgrades, OS rebuilds, and firmware updates.
- Work on tickets while meeting SLA/KPI expectations.
- Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and data center protocols.
- Create/update technical documentation, KB articles, SOPs, and lessons learned.
- Work independently and with local/remote teams.
Required Skills:
- 2–4 years of Data Center Technician experience.
- Strong server hardware and break/fix knowledge.
- Rack/stack, cabling, labeling, and hardware replacement experience.
- IPMI diagnostics experience.
- Basic Windows Server / WinPE administration.
- Basic Linux knowledge; PXE experience is a plus.
- Basic scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Network troubleshooting: Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3.
- VM setup and environment configuration experience.
Preferred:
- Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT, CCNA, MCP, or MCSE.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, climb ladders, wear PPE, and work safely in a data center environment.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
