UFT has partnered with market leading businesses to create a national provider of process, pump, automation & control, and other equipment solutions. The VP of M&A will play a crucial role working side by side with Sr. VP of M&A and the C-suite to build the M&A pipeline, reaching out to owners of potential acquisition targets, building relationships and trust with them, negotiating deals, and supporting the rest of the M&A team with successful transaction execution.
This position requires travel (30%-50% weekly)
What you'll do:
- Deal Sourcing: Identify and reach out to ownership of potential acquisition target companies align with UFT’s strategic goals
- Client Management & Communication: Build and maintain good rapport and strong relationships with sellers and their senior management (CEOs, CFOs, etc.), communicating punctually, accurately, and cordially to manage their expectations throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Portfolio Strategy: Get and remain educated about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and potential acquisition targets to help shape the UFT portfolio for a successful future transaction
- Negotiation: Negotiate deal terms, pricing, and structuring agreements with potential sellers
- Financial Analysis & Due Diligence: Remain mindful of the key value creation levers and risk mitigation elements of each transaction. Assess the value, opportunity and risk of each potential transaction, with a focus on company financials, operations
- Post-Merger Integration: Support the integration of acquired businesses to realize the expected value from the deal by ensuring the integration team benefits from your knowledge of the overall transaction process and culture of the acquisition target
Background/ Experience:
- Excellent executive level communication (in person, phone & video calls, and written) and interpersonal skills
- Insightful big picture perspective on value creation without losing focus on attention to detail, creative problem-solving, negotiation, teamwork, adaptability, strong work ethic
- Direct experience with data analysis and valuation, accounting, and corporate law, to ensure you understand and remain mindful of key value drivers and risks in a transaction
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field
