WORKING TITLE: PERSONNEL SERVICES SPECIALIST
This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in Classification & Pay.
The mission of Classification & Pay in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to ensure the equitable and consistent classification of positions and administration of employee compensation.
This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Position Classification Management: Handle daily classification actions, including establishing new positions, reclassifications, transfers, organizational changes, and supervisor updates.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all classification requests align with allocation factors, department staffing patterns, and Department of Management Services (DMS) rules and regulations.
- Position Audits: Conduct thorough audits of position descriptions, organizational charts, and position data in People First to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Organizational Support: Facilitate seamless organizational changes by managing add/deletes and ensuring proper documentation and compliance with departmental procedures.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Maintain and verify accurate records and supporting documentation to uphold the integrity of classification and staffing processes.

- Retirement - As an OPS employee, the Florida FICA Alternative Plan with Corebridge Financial affords you an excellent opportunity to help accumulate money for a secure retirement. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year of professional People First Experience.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
