About Olfactory NYC
Olfactory NYC is a refreshing take on modern perfumery. We offer a unique, bespoke experience in personal scent creation — allowing guests to combine fine fragrance with their individuality. We partner with world-renowned perfumers and use the highest quality oils to create one-of-a-kind fragrances that are as unique as each one of us. We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead our marketing efforts at Olfactory NYC. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, growing brand with a proven track record.
The Role
We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial Director of Events & Corporate Sales to lead and grow our events and corporate scent solutions. This is a senior, revenue-generating role that sits at the intersection of experiential retail, brand partnerships, corporate gifting, and customized solutions. You will own the full life cycle — from prospecting and pitching to production and post-event reporting — and will work closely with store leadership, brand partners, and the executive team to position Olfactory as the go-to fragrance experience partner. As we grow our national footprint, we're ready to formalize and scale the events and corporate business that has grown organically — and we're looking for the right person to own it.
What You'll Do
Events — In-Store & Offsite
– Own the production of in-store events across all Olfactory NYC locations, including marketing events, parentships, and seasonal activations.
– Develop and manage offsite event programming — bringing the Olfactory experience to client offices, events spaces and private venues.
– Build and maintain a proprietary event menu of signature offerings at various price points that can be sold at scale.
– Coordinate logistics, staffing, vendor relationships, and on-site execution with store managers and the operations team.
– Track event performance metrics (revenue, attendance, conversion, client satisfaction) and present findings to leadership.
Brand Partnerships & Activations
– Identify, pitch, and manage brand partnership opportunities — including co-branded activations, takeovers, and sponsored in-store programming with aligned brands
– Serve as the primary point of contact for brand partners throughout the activation lifecycle, from concept development to recap.
– Collaborate with the buying and marketing teams to ensure activations are aligned with our brand identity and product calendar.
– Develop partnership decks, proposals, and post-event reports that clearly communicate value and ROI.
Corporate Sales & Gifting
– Build and scale a corporate gifting program — developing tiered product offerings, custom packaging, branded collections, and volume pricing structures.
– Proactively prospect and close corporate clients across industries (finance, tech, law, real estate, hospitality, media) seeking premium gifting solutions.
– Manage existing corporate accounts with a focus on retention, upselling, and year-round engagement beyond the holiday season.
– Collaborate with operations and fulfillment teams to ensure seamless delivery of corporate gift orders at scale.
– Maintain a CRM pipeline and report on revenue, conversion rates, and account health on a regular cadence.
– Develop case studies, proposal templates, and a scalable sales process for private label opportunities.
Strategy & Leadership
– Set annual revenue targets for the events and corporate sales division and build the strategy to achieve them.
– Work cross-functionally with retail, marketing, operations, and finance teams to deliver seamlessly.
– Represent Olfactory at industry events and networking opportunities to generate leads and build brand awareness.
– Build out the team as the business grows — defining roles, hiring, and mentoring junior staff.
What We're Looking For
Required
– 5+ years of experience in events, corporate sales, B2B account management, or corporate gifting — ideally within luxury retail, hospitality, food & beverage, beauty, or a similarly experience-driven industry.
– Proven track record of closing and growing corporate accounts and/or managing multi-faceted event programs.
– Strong business development instincts — comfortable prospecting, pitching at a senior level.
– Experience managing vendor relationships, budgets, and logistics for in-person events of varying scale.
– Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to represent Olfactory with polish and confidence in front of corporate clients and brand partners.
– Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, accounts, and deadlines simultaneously.
– Proficiency with CRM tools (Shopify, Honeybook, Gorgias or similar) and comfort with reporting and forecasting.
Preferred
– Passion for fragrance, beauty, lifestyle, or design — genuine enthusiasm for the world of scent is a plus.
– Experience with private label product development or custom branded merchandise programs.
– Existing relationships in the NYC/regional corporate gifting, event planning, or agency ecosystem.
– Experience in a high-growth startup or multi-unit retail environment.
– Familiarity with Shopify or similar e-commerce/retail platforms.
What We Offer
– Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
– Performance-based bonus of 10–20% of base salary, tied to revenue targets across corporate sales, events, and partnerships.
– Health, dental, and vision benefits.
– Generous employee fragrance discount across the full Olfactory portfolio.
– Hybrid work arrangement — 4 days per week at our NYC office, with flexibility.
– The opportunity to build something meaningful within a fast-growing, founder-led brand that is defining a new category in retail.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume and a brief cover note describing a specific event, corporate gifting program, or brand partnership you are most proud of — and what made it successful.
Your First 90 Days
We want this role to have immediate impact. Here's what success looks like in your first three months:
Days 1–30: Learn the experience
– Spend meaningful time in our stores — attend in-store events, meet the team, and understand the Olfactory guest experience from the inside out.
– Audit the current events and corporate gifting pipeline: active accounts, past clients, inbound inquiries, and any programs already in place.
– Meet with store managers and marketing team to understand their local market, capacity for events, and existing corporate relationships.
– Map out the competitive landscape — how comparable brands position their events and gifting programs, and where the opportunity gaps are.
– Identify the top 15–20 corporate prospect accounts you want to target
Days 31–60: Build & Close
– Develop a standardized events menu with clear offerings, pricing tiers, and minimum spends for both in-store and offsite formats.
– Begin outreach to corporate gifting prospects and close first accounts ahead of or during the next gifting season.
– Establish your CRM workflow — pipeline stages, reporting cadence, and how you'll track revenue against targets.
– Produce or oversee your first offsite or brand partnership activation end-to-end.
– Present an initial brand partnership wish list and outreach plan to leadership.
Days 61–90: Plan & Scale
– Present a 12-month events calendar and corporate sales revenue plan to the leadership team — with targets, staffing needs, and a partnership pipeline.
– Identify any process gaps (fulfillment, operations, marketing support) and propose solutions.
– Share a clear point of view on where the private label opportunity is largest and what it would take to activate it.
Travel
This role requires regular travel to support store locations and client engagements across our national footprint. On an ongoing basis, expect approximately one trip per month. During the first six months, travel may be more frequent — typically one to two trips per month — as you build relationships across our store network, meet regional market partners, and attend key client engagements. All travel is planned in advance and fully expensed per company policy.
