CHAAK is a Michelin awarded Mayan and Yucatecan restaurant in Old Town Tustin looking for experienced applicants that can add to our team.
We are seeking experienced applicants with the following qualifications:
-Experience in high volume and busy environment
-Self motivated, team player, add value to our team
-Scratch Cooking

-Must be available mornings + weekends
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience, with leadership or supervisory roles.
-Invested & Heartfelt Leadership: Must care deeply about your work and inspire the team.
-Self-Motivated: We need someone who takes initiative and is driven to grow with us long-term.
-Precision & Speed: Able to follow recipes exactly and make adjustments to ensure perfect execution, all while working quickly and efficiently.
-Strong Math Skills: Essential for managing inventory accurately.
-Excellent Communication & Teamwork: Must work well with FOH management, other chefs, and lead the kitchen team to foster a positive and cohesive team environment.
-Reliable & Focused: We need someone we can count on daily. If you're looking for flexibility or are prone to calling out, this isn’t the role for you.
Roles Include:
-Inventory Management: Accept and organize deliveries, put food away, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
-Prep Plan & Pars: Follow a detailed prep plan and ensure pars are set and maintained.
-Recipe Consistency: Maintain the exact flavors and quality that make CHAAK Kitchen unique.
-Team Leadership: Work closely with the FOH and kitchen teams to create a collaborative, positive, and high-performing atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead the kitchen line during service, ensuring efficiency and quality.
-Oversee prep, execution, and plating of dishes, maintaining consistency.
-Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and growth.
-Collaborate with the Head Chef to create seasonal specials and menu innovations.
-Ensure the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and organization in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
-Experience in a professional kitchen, with leadership or supervisory roles.
-Knowledge of Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and traditional techniques is a plus.
-Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
-Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
