The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the daily operations of the Tasting Room, Kitchen, and other food and beverage outlets at Bernardo Winery. This position works closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and Kitchen Manager to ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient operations, and adherence to the winery’s hospitality standards.
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager serves as a hands-on leader, helping oversee staff, support service operations, maintain facility standards, and provide leadership during daily operations and special events. This role is intended to be a developmental leadership position with increasing responsibility and operational oversight.
Qualifications;
2+ years of supervisory or management experience in food, beverage, hospitality, or restaurant operations preferred.
Strong guest service orientation and commitment to hospitality excellence.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Experience with staff scheduling and labor management preferred.
Working knowledge of food and beverage operations, wine service, food safety standards, and POS systems.
Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
Availability to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as required.
California Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain).
Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required (or ability to obtain).
