The CAD Designer is responsible for providing administrative support to Perimeter Security Partners Project Engineer by preparing assembly/shop drawings, detailed construction submittal drawings, and or product diagrams for manufacturing. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction and fabrication. Decision maker but refers most questions/problems to operations or supervisor. Has a solid understanding of drafting techniques. Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. The CAD Designer reports directly to the Project Engineer.
Duties
The CAD Designer will assist with all the design duties associated with security construction projects, product shop drawings, and manufacturing drawings utilizing their experience in CAD systems, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
The CAD Designer’s duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Developing and implementing design and drawing standards.
- Drafting security related construction drawings for a wide range of clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chemical Facilities, Department of Energy, U.S. Air Force, and Fortune 500 companies.
- Preparing parts and inventory lists.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings.
- Perform other administrative and management tasks as directed by the Chief of Operations or Project Engineer.
Requirements, Skills, And Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required
- Has proficiency in AutoCAD software.
- Post-secondary school training in drafting (2-4 year technical certificate or degree from an accredited institution preferred).
- Must have a solid understanding of drafting techniques.
- Previous work in the Civil Engineering field is a plus.
- Must have good personal habits, be technically conscientious, can stay on task and complete work on schedule, and can work independently as well as on a team.
- 3 years of experience in a professional work environment is required.
- 3 or more years of experience in AUTO CAD Design required.
- Advanced proficiency with AUTO CAD 2012 and MS Office applications is required.
- Proficiency with MicroStation PowerDraft is a plus.
- Proficiency with Inventor is a plus.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks is a plus.
- Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, and references
