Construction Project Coordinator / Junior Estimator – San Diego
Compensation: $24–$30/hr DOE
Employment Type: Part-Time to Start (Potential Full-Time Growth)
Location: Kearny Mesa / San Diego County
Heritage West is a growing San Diego-based multifamily renovation contractor specializing in exterior repairs, waterproofing, dry rot, framing, stucco, doors, windows, SB 721 repairs, and capital improvement projects throughout Southern California.
We are seeking a motivated Construction Project Coordinator / Junior Estimator to support our estimating and project management team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys construction, is highly organized, takes pride in their work, and is looking to grow into a long-term career in construction management.
Responsibilities
• Assist with site walks, measurements, documentation, and photo reports
• Prepare scopes of work, proposals, and bid packages
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
• Track project schedules, change orders, and job documentation
• Coordinate subcontractor paperwork, insurance certificates, W-9s, and project files
• Maintain project information within our company files and related systems
• Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members
• Support project managers and estimators with day-to-day project coordination
• Visit active job sites throughout San Diego County as needed
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of construction industry experience required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work in active construction environments
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic proficiency with computers, email, spreadsheets, and file management
• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with estimating, project coordination, property management, or construction administration
• Experience reading plans, taking field measurements, and preparing scopes of work
• Familiarity with multifamily renovation projects is a plus
Schedule
Approximately 20–30 hours per week to start, with opportunity for increased hours and advancement based on performance.
Work will include a mix of office work in Kearny Mesa, job site visits throughout San Diego County, and some remote/admin work.
