We are seeking an experienced Caregiver to join our licensed 6 bed Special Needs Residential Care Home located in Fountain Valley, CA. Our ideal team member is compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing resident centered care that supports dignity, safety, and quality of life.
We serve adults with special needs in a warm, home like environment, and we are looking for someone who is patient, organized, and genuinely dedicated to helping residents thrive.
🌟 Position Requirements
• Saturday/Sunday availability (part time or full time)
• Current TB test or willingness to obtain
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong communication skills and a kind, calm demeanor
• Trustworthy, reliable, and comfortable working with special needs adults
🛠️ Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Personal Care Support — Assist with bathing, showers, bed baths, oral care, shaving, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
• Meal Preparation — Prepare and cook healthy meals/snacks that meet dietary needs and restrictions.
• Incontinence Care — Perform brief changes, peri care, skin monitoring, and ensure dignity at every step.
• Medication Assistance — Administer medications accurately and document each administration.
• Safe Transfers — Assist with bed to chair, chair to toilet, sit to stand, two person transfers; gait belt use; Hoyer lift experience is a plus.
• Fall Prevention & Mobility — Support ambulation and mobility for residents with varying physical abilities.
• Home Environment Care — Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary, and organized home.
• ADL Support — Assist with meals, feeding, turning, positioning, and general comfort.
• Vital Signs Monitoring — Check and record vital signs; observe and report changes in physical or mental status to the RN.
• Housekeeping & Laundry — Provide routine cleaning and laundry support for residents.
