Duties
The duties and responsibilities for a IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN) GS-2210-12 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs customer support duties to include account management, password resets, and addressing priority needs for the organization.
- Analyzes configuration management processes and procedures, develops and recommends processes, software, and procedures to ensure effective configuration management.
- Identifies and carries out actions investigates, recommend a cost-effective solution to management.
- Plans and coordinates the maintenance, upgrade, and support of systems. Schedules maintenance activities during off-peak usage periods.
- Manages and maintains the baseline configuration of hardware, software, and network systems.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN), at GS-2210-12, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below.
Basic Qualifications (2210 Series)

- Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
- Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
Specialized Experience:
To qualify for the GS-12 grade level, you must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable non-Federal experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing the following duties:
- Supports organization systems including a variety of applications, platforms, and system images.
- Plans and oversee hardware and software installation on customer workstation.
- Troubleshoots hardware, maintenance, and repairs to equipment.
