Position Overview:
The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the firm’s day-to-day operations by managing IT infrastructure and assisting staff with their technological needs. This position ensures systems run efficiently and employees have the technical support required to perform their work effectively.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in Silver Spring, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide first-line technical support to employees via in-person, phone, video, email, or remote assistance
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly
- Provide training and guidance to employees on IT-related tools and systems
Systems Administration & Access Management
- Manage user accounts across platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft, Zoom, etc.
- Manage permissions and access rights in accordance with security policies
- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and best practices
Equipment & Infrastructure Management
- Order, provision, and maintain IT equipment for staff
- Set up and support office workstations and ensure proper hardware/software configuration
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets
Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with vendors and external service providers to resolve technical issues and procure IT products/services
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and Administrative departments on IT-related initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and troubleshooting techniques
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing or having completed a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
- IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft, Zoom, or similar platforms
- Experience in customer service or administrative roles
