The Hospitality Aide supports Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) by performing non‑clinical tasks that contribute to residents' comfort, safety, and their overall well‑being. This role is an excellent entry point for individuals interested in becoming a CNA.
GMC provides all required CNA classes, and employees have 120 days from hire to complete training and pass the CNA exam.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver snacks and nourishments according to established schedules; assist CNAs with distribution.
- Set up and maintain ice water carts; assist CNAs with refreshing residents' water.
- Clear tables and collect meal trays from nursing units (no feeding or meal documentation unless certified as a Feeding Assistant).
- Transport residents to and from meals, activities, and other destinations by wheelchair (no lifting, transfers, or serving as a second person on van transports).
- Clean and sanitize equipment, wheelchairs, utensils, and workspaces according to facility guidelines.
- Make and remake beds with clean linens; clean mattresses and bed frames following proper procedures.
- Assist CNAs and the Activities Department with preparing for and supporting resident activities.
- Remove soiled linens and garbage at the end of the shift as directed.
- Respond to resident call lights and promptly notify a CNA of any care needs.
- Help maintain neat, organized resident rooms, closets, and drawers.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect toward residents, families, and coworkers.
- Uphold resident rights-including privacy, dignity, and safety-at all times.
- Follow the appropriate chain of command and adhere to medical center policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Understand and support the hospice philosophy when caring for appropriate residents.
- Preform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- No prior experience required-on‑the‑job training provided.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
