Summary
The IT Support Technician provides experienced, hands-on technical support for the organization’s computer hardware, software, and end-user systems. This role independently diagnoses and resolves a broad range of technical issues while delivering excellent customer service and clear communication to end users, IT team members, and third‑party support providers. The IT Support Technician installs, configures, and maintains computers, peripherals, and applications; evaluates user needs and recommends appropriate hardware and software solutions; and provides guidance and training to help users work efficiently and securely. As a key member of a small IT team, this position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and the confidence to collaborate effectively to maintain a reliable, secure, and productive IT environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide onsite technical support for hardware, software, and end‑user computing issues while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
- Serve as a primary Help Desk resource, independently diagnosing and resolving support requests using phone, email, remote tools, and in‑person assistance.
- Build positive working relationships with employees, IT team members, and third‑party vendors through effective collaboration and communication.
- Accurately log, track, and document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the Help Desk ticketing system.
- Install, configure, deploy, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Diagnose and replace internal computer components, including drives, memory, power supplies, and adapter cards.
- Perform operating system installations, software deployments, updates, patches, and firmware upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and support network connectivity issues, including wired and wireless access, VPN, and remote access.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
- Support cybersecurity efforts by monitoring endpoint security, responding to phishing or suspicious emails, and assisting with security incidents.
- Educate end users on security best practices and effective use of systems and applications.
- Collaborate with the IT team to improve support processes, maintain documentation, and enhance the overall end‑user computing environment.
- Work primarily onsite to provide hands‑on support and user interaction; limited remote work may be available as business needs allow.
- Provide occasional off‑hours or after‑hours support as required to support business operations or system maintenance.

Pay: 55,000 - 65,000 per year
