Human Resources Director
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: CEO
Position Summary
The Human Resources Director leads the HR function across all company locations, including Charlotte, Charleston, and Raleigh. This role partners with leadership to drive business outcomes through effective people practices, ensuring alignment with company objectives, risk management, and a consistent employee experience.
Responsibilities include oversight of employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, and
organizational development, with a focus on consistency and scalability across markets. This role also
partners closely with the recruiting function to ensure a seamless and efficient onboarding experience for all employees.
The HR Director will also support transition during acquisitions, including the integration of teams, systems, policies, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws
- Oversee HR policies and regulatory reporting
- Manage workers’ compensation, FMLA, and leave administration
- Manage compensation structures and benchmarking
- Administer benefits programs including 401(k)
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations matters
- Conduct investigations and resolve workplace issues
- Coach managers on performance management and discipline
- Partner on compensation planning and budgeting
- Lead HR operations across Charlotte, Charleston, and Raleigh
- Ensure consistency in HR processes and employee experience across markets
- Ensure onboarding and offboarding plans are defined and followed
- Partner with local leadership teams to support workforce needs
- Work directly with the COO on acquisition integration efforts
- Perform HR due diligence support for acquisitions
- Develop and execute integration plans for new teams, systems, and policies
- Monitor post-acquisition retention and engagement
- Oversee onboarding and systems integration for acquired employees
- Responsible for payroll operations
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of HR leadership experience
- Experience in multi-location environment with ability to travel weekly.
- Strong knowledge of employment law
- Experience supporting acquisitions or integrations preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required in HR related field; HR certification preferred
