About Potential Electrical
We are a full-service electrical contractor specializing in EV charging infrastructure, battery energy storage systems (BESS), utility power, and prevailing wage public works projects across Southern California. We run an in-house pre-fab conduit division to deliver cleaner installs and tighter schedules. We are a small, family-based company focused on quality workmanship, safety, and long-term team relationships. We are growing — and we are looking for a skilled Journeyman who wants to build a career, not just fill a slot.

Minimum Qualifications
You must meet all of these. Credentials will be verified.
• Valid, current CA State Journeyman Electrician card
• Clean California driver’s license
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and comply with our Drug and Alcohol Policy
• Blueprint and electrical drawing experience
• Conduit installation: EMT, Rigid, and underground
What You’ll Do
• Install underground conduits, grounding systems, and conduit racking
• Perform on prevailing wage public works projects — certified payroll, DIR compliance
• Build and install pre-fabricated conduit assemblies from our in-house prefab division
• Read blueprints; complete redlines and as-built documentation
• Wire and terminate EV chargers, BESS, and utility electrical equipment
• Complete JSAs, daily field reports, and project closeout documents
• Rig, set, and install small-to-large electrical equipment
• Lead and mentor apprentices on-site
• Pull and terminate #8 through 500 MCM Cu & Al wire
• Coordinate with PM to keep jobs on schedule and in scope
Travel & Schedule
Most work is within San Diego County, but job sites can range across Southern California. Out-of-area assignments include company-paid lodging and per diem per our travel policy. Standard schedule is Monday–Friday with 10 hrs OT/week minimum; occasional Saturdays for prevailing wage closeouts.
Strong Candidates Also Have
• EVITP certification
• Ability to run a job site independently
• BESS or utility-scale electrical experience
• Prior prevailing wage / public works experience
• Experience with mobile field apps and digital blueprints (Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam)
Compensation & Benefits
Wage range: $55–$65/hr based on experience and credentials. Estimated minimum 10 hours of overtime per week. Full benefits begin after a 90-day probation period.
$185K+ ANNUAL TOTAL POTENTIAL
Total potential based on $65/hr base + 10 hrs OT/week (estimated minimum). Family health, 401(k) match, paid holidays, sick leave, and company truck add further value beyond cash.
