About the RoleAraks is a sustainable lingerie and swimwear brand dedicated to local craftsmanship and mindful design. We are seeking an enterprising, ambitious Production Assistant with 2–5 years of experience to join our New York City team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about the end-to-end lifecycle of a garment—from initial design concept to final delivery.
You will work directly with our Director of Production, local factories, and global suppliers to ensure the timely execution of development samples, maintain rigorous inventory accuracy, and uphold our standards for domestic manufacturing excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Production Support
- Support the product development process from initial concept through bulk production.
- Generate and submit development and production cut tickets to domestic factories.
- Create and issue Purchase Orders (POs) for raw materials and finished goods to both domestic and international suppliers.
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Style Masters in RLM to ensure accurate production costing and factory communication.
Workflow & Logistics
- Maintain the Work In Progress (WIP) report and provide regular status updates to the Director of Production.
- Oversee daily communication and conduct frequent on-site visits to local vendors and factories.
- Track fabric and trim orders to ensure on-time delivery and prevent production bottlenecks.
- Receive shipments, inspect finished goods, and update inventory management systems promptly.
Quality & Excellence
- Conduct rigorous quality control (QC) checks to uphold Araks’ standards for craftsmanship.
- Ensure operational efficiency and timeliness across all stages of the production cycle.
Who You Are- Experience: 2–5 years of professional experience in fashion production or manufacturing. Domestic preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fashion Production or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven background in domestic apparel production; familiarity with lingerie and swimwear construction is a plus.
- Mindset: You are a "completer-finisher" who is obsessed with 100% accuracy. You understand that in production, "close enough" isn't enough.

Technical "Nice-to-Haves"- Knowledge of PLM systems (RLM, Bluecherry, Simparel, or similar).
- A foundational understanding of patternmaking and dyeing processes.
- Experience managing or mentoring interns.
