Context
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision of building electrical projects while providing technical leadership. He contributes to excellence in practice, the development of internal expertise, and the delivery of complex projects.
Missions/Main Duties
- Design electrical systems for public, institutional, and transportation infrastructure projects, including low- and medium-voltage distribution, lighting, and emergency power systems.
- Perform required technical studies, including load calculations, selectivity studies, and short-circuit analyses.
- Prepare, review, and approve plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with applicable Quebec and Canadian codes andstandards.
- Provide technical leadership in building electrical engineering by mentoring team members, standardizing practices, and supporting the development of internal expertise.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders by providing technical guidance and supporting project delivery, including during construction phases.
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelor27s degree in Electrical Engineering and member of the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ).
Years of experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in building electrical engineering, including significant experience on public and institutional projects.
Technical skills:
- Strong expertise in low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution and in the design of complex electrical installations.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards in Quebec and Canada.
- Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or equivalent software.
- Experience in transportation-related projects is considered an asset, particularly in maintenance centres or infrastructure for urban transit operators.
- Expertise in public lighting, including design, applicable standards, and urban integration, is considered an asset.
