Job Title: Paralegal – Family Law & Criminal Defense
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Paralegal to support attorneys practicing in family law and criminal defense. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and able to manage sensitive matters with discretion and care. This role requires strong legal research, document preparation, client communication, and case management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys with case preparation in family law and criminal defense matters
• Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, and correspondence
• Conduct legal research and summarize relevant case law, statutes, and procedures
• Organize and maintain case files, evidence, exhibits, and client records
• Manage deadlines, court dates, hearings, and attorney calendars
• Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, law enforcement, and other third parties as directed
• Assist with discovery, document review, and preparation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
• Gather and organize financial, custody, and background information for family law matters
• Assist with preparation of criminal case materials, including witness lists, evidence logs, and case summaries
• Maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information with professionalism
• Support attorneys and staff with administrative and litigation-related tasks as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and legal case management software
• Familiarity with legal terminology, formatting, and filing procedures

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in family law and/or criminal defense
• Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training
• Experience with court filing systems and litigation support
• Familiarity with document management and legal calendaring systems
