Job Summary and Qualifications
- You will oversee all credentialing and administrative functions of the Medical Staff Services Department and performs a variety of tasks requiring initiative, independent judgement, discretion, diplomacy, and substantial knowledge of Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and Policies & Procedures
- You will coordinate Medical Staff support services in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations and Hospital Policies & Procedures within parameters determined by the Director of Medical Staff Services, Administration and the Chief of Staff
- You will participate with the Director of the department in development of long-term plans, goals, and objectives of the Medical Staff and Medical Staff Services to include accountability to the Board of Trustees for Medical Staff activities, and JCAHO compliance in all areas of Medical Staff Services
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent required
- Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a Medical Staff Services or other credentialing related setting and a thorough understanding of goals, objectives, and purpose of Medical Staff Services required
- Excellent computer experience required
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws and JCAHO requirements regarding credentialing and medical staff service functions
