IT Support Engineer (Mid-Level) | NYC | Private Equity
A highly successful global Private Equity Firm with offices in New York and Europe, looking for a Mid-Level IT Support Engineer to join their team on-site in NYC.
This is a front-line role supporting some of the sharpest people in finance—including Managing Partners—so you'll need to bring strong technical chops and the polish to work with senior stakeholders. If you thrive on solving problems, take pride in white-glove service, and want to work in a fast-paced environment where technology is mission-critical, this is your kind of role.
What You'll Do:
You'll provide hands-on, desk-side, and remote support to users across global offices, troubleshooting hardware, software, and systems issues in real time. You'll be the person people rely on when something breaks or they need access fast. Day to day, you'll manage tickets through an incident management system, support Windows environments, administer Active Directory and Exchange, and work across infrastructure technologies, including Citrix, networking, and mobile device management. You'll also support trading floor essentials like Bloomberg, Reuters, and other market data applications.
This isn't a role where you wait to be told what to do. They want someone self-motivated who can operate independently, prioritize on the fly, and deliver a high standard of support with minimal supervision.
What They're Looking For:
- 2–5 years of experience in 1st and 2nd level support
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience working in a service desk environment with SLAs and incident management tools
- Familiarity with Citrix, Exchange, SCCM, Intune, and Cisco phone administration
- Exposure to Bloomberg, Reuters, and market data applications
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management)
- Excellent communication skills—you'll be supporting everyone from analysts to Managing Partners
Nice to Have:
- PowerShell scripting
- Basic UNIX knowledge
- AV equipment experience
What's In It For You:
- Competitive base salary + discretionary bonus
- Medical and dental coverage
- 401K with 5% employer contribution
- $2,000 annual training allowance
- 15 days PTO + 8 public holidays
