We're seeking a Systems Administrator to support and enhance a multi-site IT environment across several locations. This role is responsible for maintaining system stability, strengthening security posture, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations across servers, endpoints, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive in preventing downtime, and comfortable supporting both end users and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows and macOS endpoints, Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), and virtual infrastructure using VMware vSphere.
- Manage and support Microsoft cloud technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
- Configure and maintain core network components, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and VoIP services.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools such as PRTG Network Monitor and native Azure monitoring; respond promptly to critical alerts.
- Implement and maintain security controls including access management, patching, endpoint protection (e.g., Sophos), and compliance best practices.
- Support backup and disaster recovery processes, including monitoring and testing recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to minimize operational disruption.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to streamline administrative tasks.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with IT team members to evaluate and implement infrastructure improvements and provide escalated end-user support.
Must-Haves
- 5+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar infrastructure role.
- Professional experience managing with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 environments.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure and Entra ID.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, VoIP).
- Experience troubleshooting infrastructure across servers, endpoints, and networks.
- Scripting and automation expertise using Powershell.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Scripting proficiency with Bash, or Python.
- Experience supporting macOS and Linux (Ubuntu) systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco).
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
- Experience with systems/network enterprise monitoring tools.
- Experience with backup and recovery tools such as Veeam.
- Exposure to regulatory or SOC compliance environments.
