Compensation: $25/hour + Overtime eligible (1.5x pay for hours worked over 40 per week)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, professional, and service-oriented Junior IT Tech Support Specialist to provide in-person technical support in our New York office. This role requires strong technical fundamentals combined with the professionalism needed to operate in a client-facing business environment.
You will serve as the first point of contact for internal technical issues and play a key role in maintaining operational continuity across hardware, software, networking, and security systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person desktop and technical support for employees and our clients
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and connectivity issues
- Set up and configure laptops, monitors, and peripherals
- Support user account provisioning (Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace)
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding technical setup
- Troubleshoot basic networking issues (Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, IP conflicts)
- Maintain endpoint security and patching standards
- Document technical procedures and maintain asset inventory
- Escalate advanced issues appropriately
- Ensure adherence to internal cybersecurity and data protection protocols
- Crowdstrike EDR
- Jumpcloud
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred
- If degree is not IT-related, relevant technical certifications are required
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in a professional, client-facing environment
- Must demonstrate professionalism, communication skills, and ability to support end users directly
- Strong technical troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work 100% in-person in New York
Technical Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Option A:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or IT-adjacent field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, etc.)
- Option B:
- Non-IT bachelor’s degree + one or more relevant certifications such as:
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft certification
- Cisco (CCNA)
- Equivalent foundational IT certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced or startup environment
- Experience with ticketing systems
- Familiarity with identity management tools (Okta, JumpCloud, etc.)
- Exposure to cybersecurity best practices
