About The Role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an Information Technology Support Technician Intern in our Crystal Lake, Illinois office. The ideal candidate has professional experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments. The IT Support Technician Intern reports to the Information Technology (IT) Operations Manager and is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for desktop systems, hardware, software, mobile devices, and basic network issues.
What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like
- Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, peripherals, and mobile devices in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve end user hardware, software, and network connectivity issues both remotely and in person.
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems and related applications.
- Document, track, and monitor support requests to ensure timely resolution.
- Create documentation for technical procedures and end-user tutorials.
- Assist with user account and software license management.
- Educate end-users on best practices for security, data protection, and software usage.
- Utilize Microsoft Intune for operating system deployment and application packaging and distribution.
Must-haves, What You Will Bring
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (monitors, networking hardware, etc.).
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
- Available on-call some nights and weekends.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- In pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology.
Compensation: The pay for this role is $21.00 an hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
