A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As the
Director of Information Technology, you lead the strategy, security, and performance of the company’s entire IT environment — from enterprise infrastructure to classified systems. Your day spans executive strategy discussions, cybersecurity oversight, vendor coordination, and ensuring employees across the organization have reliable, high-performance tools to support mission-critical work. You guide long-term IT architecture, manage risk and compliance for government contracts, and keep systems secure, resilient, and available in a 24/7 operational environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Enterprise IT Strategy and Architecture: Define and execute the vision, architecture, and long-range technology roadmap for infrastructure, systems, telecommunications, databases, and engineering platforms.
- Ensure High-Availability IT Operations: Oversee a 24/7 IT environment, minimizing downtime, leading incident response efforts, and ensuring reliable hardware, software, and network performance to support employee productivity.
- Drive Cybersecurity and Compliance: Establish and maintain cybersecurity programs aligned with NIST, CMMC, and federal requirements to protect company intellectual property, proprietary data, and classified systems.
- Manage Information System Security (ISSM) Functions: Direct the security posture of classified networks, including documentation, monitoring, auditing, and adherence to government security standards.
- Oversee IT Risk, Disaster Recovery, and Continuity Planning: Develop and implement enterprise IT risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Develop Policies and Governance: Create, maintain, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards that support secure and efficient operations.
- Lead IT Budget and Resource Planning: Develop and manage the IT department’s annual budget, ensuring cost-effective investments in hardware, software, and services.
- Direct and Develop IT Teams: Provide leadership, mentoring, performance management, and staffing oversight while fostering a high-performing, service-oriented IT organization.
- Manage Vendors and Managed Service Providers: Negotiate IT-related contracts, oversee MSP performance, and manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and value.
- Guide IT Project Portfolio Execution: Lead feasibility studies, system improvement initiatives, and major technology projects while communicating cost, value, and risk to executive leadership.
- Maintain Government and Agency Coordination: Build and maintain relationships with U.S. government agencies responsible for cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Monitor IT trends, incorporate lessons learned, and continuously enhance IT services and operational processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (advanced certifications or training preferred).
- 10 or more years of experience in IT leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of IT requirements for U.S. Government contracts (NIST, CMMC, etc.).
- Experience with enterprise IT systems design, infrastructure, and implementation.
- Proven experience managing IT projects, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and external vendors.
- Aerospace and defense industry experience with classified IT systems preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Business acumen with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from
$155,000 to $185,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance. Additional benefits include:
