Basic Description:
The
Cyber Security Analyst is an entry-level position responsible for supporting Flat Branch’s cybersecurity operations with a strong emphasis on customer service. This role serves as the
first point of contact for security-related inquiries and plays a key role in protecting the organization from cyber threats.
The Cyber Security Analyst works closely with senior security team members and IT staff, following established procedures to investigate alerts, analyze potentially malicious emails, and respond to security-related tickets. This role is designed for individuals beginning their cybersecurity careers and provides hands-on experience and training.
Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to security-related tickets and incidents using the company ticketing system.
- Investigate emails reported as phishing or suspicious and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
- Review quarantined emails and determine whether they can be safely released.
- Monitor and triage security alerts, documenting findings and escalating as needed.
- Provide security support to end users via phone, chat, and email.
- Participate in security awareness training and communications.
- Work with security tools including email security, vulnerability management, and monitoring platforms.
- Assist with security-related projects and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work with cross functional teams on security-related projects and implementation.
- Occasional travel is required.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong customer service focus while adhering to security policies.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of information security concepts.
- Basic understanding of IT Infrastructure and networking.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks within cybersecurity as required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience in IT support, help desk, or technical customer service.
- Relevant industry standard certification OR bachelors degree in relevant field (preferred, not required)
