Description
The Systems Administrator is expected to be highly skilled and self-motivated with experience in Hyper-V Clustering, server administration, scripting, and basic network fundamentals, to join our team. This role emphasizes technical expertise, problem-solving, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties
- Deploy and manage Hyper-V Clusters, including shared storage, disk configurations, and load balancing.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.
- Collaborate with network team to support Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points at the Oak Ridge facilities.
- Monitor system performance, ensure uptime, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide on-site support to ensure rapid response to manufacturing needs.
- Lead technical projects and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Minimum 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of Hyper-V and related infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and PowerShell scripting.
- Working knowledge of network engineering, including cabling and basic switch configuration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments.
- Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage systems
- Experience with Veeam Backups.
- Familiarity with SQL queries, PowerBI, and PowerAutomate.
