Position Summary
The Executive Vice President provides strategic and operational leadership over the company’s existing stable, US Based multifamily property portfolio. This executive is accountable for portfolio performance, operational excellence, resident satisfaction, team leadership, compliance, and value creation. They serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and partner closely with ownership, development, and asset management to achieve company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
·Develop and execute the overall property management strategy for the multifamily portfolio under his/her management.
·Serve as a strategic partner to ownership and senior leadership on long-term planning, budgeting, and growth.
·Establish and monitor KPIs, operating standards, and best practices across the portfolio.
·Lead change management, organizational development, and process improvements as the company grows.
Operational Oversight
·Oversee day-to-day operations for all managed properties including leasing, maintenance, capital planning, resident services, compliance, and risk management.
·Drive operational excellence, efficiency, and cost control across the portfolio.
·Ensure each property meets or exceeds budgeted NOI, occupancy, rent growth, and expense goals.
·In cooperation with President manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement and contract compliance.
Team Management & Development
·Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing property management team (district managers, property managers, leasing and maintenance staff).
·Establish clear performance expectations and accountability systems.
·Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational discipline.
Resident Experience & Compliance
·Ensure a high standard of resident experience, satisfaction, and retention.
·Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local housing laws, safety regulations, Fair Housing, and company policies.
·Coordinate with legal and leadership on any escalated resident or operational issues.
Financial & Reporting
·Prepare and manage the operating budgets for the property management division under his/her management.
·Monitor monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting; identify trends and corrective actions.
·Financial and operational reporting monthly and quarterly to President.
·Partner with accounting and asset management teams to maximize asset value and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
·Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in multifamily property management preferred.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Experience in both stabilized and lease-up properties strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong operational, financial, and analytical acumen.
- Proven leadership and organizational development skills.
- Knowledge of Yardi or other property management systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of multifamily real estate market dynamics, compliance, and resident relations strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on approach and detail oriented.

Reporting Structure

Position is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan (in person)
