A leading specialty metals manufacturer is seeking a
Reliability Engineer to support its growing Reliability Program-driving improvements in asset dependability, safety, and operational excellence.
In this role, you'll play a critical part in identifying and implementing reliability initiatives that enhance the performance and longevity of production equipment.
Working under the direction of the Preventive Maintenance Engineer, you'll collaborate across departments to advance reliability-centered maintenance practices, strengthen preventive maintenance strategies, and reduce unplanned downtime across the facility.
About the FacilityThis operation is a
state-of-the-art specialty steel production facility, manufacturing nickel alloy, stainless steel, and low-alloy grades through advanced melting and remelting technologies such as
Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM),
Electro-Slag Remelting (ESR), and
Vacuum-Arc Remelting (VAR).
The site also includes a bar finishing shop with an
SMX 650 Radial Forge, thermal processing systems, non-destructive testing, and an accredited Nadcap laboratory.
These advanced capabilities enable the production of high-integrity materials used in aerospace, energy, and other precision-demanding industries-making the facility a cornerstone of the company's global operations.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field required.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments; steelmaking preferred.
- Proven experience implementing Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with IBM Maximo Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) platform strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead and participate in Equipment Criticality Assessments, Critical Spares Analyses, and Root Cause Analyses (RCA/FMEA).
- Query and analyze data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS - IBM Maximo) and related databases.
- Develop and update engineering standards based on equipment performance and failure data.
- Manage reliability-focused projects under the direction of the Corporate Preventive Maintenance Engineer.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
- Periodically travel to other company sites to benchmark reliability programs and share best practices.
