TAG Hardware designs, engineers, and manufactures products for the closet and modular furniture industry. Our 70,000 square foot brand new manufacturing plant is located in South Surrey, British Columbia. The facility also houses our head office, plastic injection molding machines, powder coating machine, assembly work stations, and a warehouse, where we develop and produce our patented products for customers globally.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a thoughtful, hands-on, and strategic Director of Human Resources to shape and elevate our people strategy during a pivotal phase of growth. This is a high-impact role where you'll partner closely with executive leadership to align our people's practices with evolving business needs, while ensuring an exceptional employee experience across the company.
You will lead and continuously improve all aspects of the HR function, from organizational design and leadership coaching to compliance, recruitment, and employee engagement. You will be both a strategic advisor and a practical operator, ensuring that our teams are supported, empowered, and set up to thrive.
What You'll Do
Strategic HR Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and people strategies that align with our growth objectives.
- Partner across functions to proactively identify opportunities to enhance engagement, development, retention, and cross-team collaboration.
- Provide counsel on leadership practices, team dynamics, and long-term talent planning.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performing culture by strengthening manager-employee relationships and facilitating open communication across the business.
- Advise and guide managers through complex employee matters, performance concerns, and development conversations with empathy and integrity.
- Own the company's approach to employee feedback, engagement surveys, and continuous improvement.
HR Operations & Process Excellence
- Build, streamline, and oversee all HR processes across the employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, promotions, exits).
- Ensure legal compliance with all applicable employment legislation (particularly BC and Canadian employment standards), and maintain policies and documentation accordingly.
- Work closely with Finance to manage payroll, compensation, and benefits administration.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for corporate and operational roles in partnership with department heads.
- Design and implement onboarding and development programs to ensure new hires and internal talent are set up for success.
- Support succession planning and identify future leaders across the business.
HR Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, engagement, training participation) and use insights to drive action.
- Stay current on HR best practices and recommend improvements to tools, systems, and policies.
- Champion a mindset of continuous learning, accountability, and growth.

What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or advisory role
- Experience in a manufacturing, operations, or product-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach, advise, and influence managers and executives
- Strong knowledge of BC employment law and HR compliance frameworks
- Proven success designing or improving HR systems, programs, and policies
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- CPHR designation or in progress preferred
