Summary
The IT Specialist is a key contributor for the success of managing SBTC’s technology environment. The IT Specialist will be the first point of contact for end-users and will be responsible for documenting, diagnosing and resolving problems. The IT Specialist will work with a wide variety of bank technology, including computers, peripherals, network, business applications, banking applications and so on. Key departments that the IT Specialist will be supporting include Operations, Loans, and Customer Service. The IT Specialist will work closely with the rest of the Information Technology Department personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of bank Information Technology systems.
- Learn, observe and manage systems and integrations.
- Help and educate end-users on their technology and how to use systems and programs.
- Manage hardware and software break/fix activities.
- Open and track to resolution trouble tickets with 3rd party hardware and software vendors.
- Manage hardware life cycle processes for desktops, laptops, peripherals.
- Manage inventories of IT supplies, desktops, laptops, peripherals.
- Purchase, configure and deliver end-user desktops, laptops and peripherals.
- Provide end-user support on authorized and company-owned mobile devices.
- Manage, maintain and implement operating system and application updates on end-user desktops, laptops and peripherals.
- Implement and manage operating system and application patches with urgency as needed.
- Understanding of IT Security and Cybersecurity principles, processes and management.
- Cover and manage for other colleagues’ workloads during absences for vacations, appointments, conflicts, etc.
- Assist in monitoring and managing system backup jobs, software and firmware updates, on the server and network environments.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing an environment of open and authentic communication.

Critical Skills
- Professional demeanor, outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Experience and aptitude for supporting, troubleshooting and repairing desktop and laptop hardware in an office environment.
- Hands-on experience with desktop and peripheral devices
- Deep experience with Microsoft Windows 10, 11, Microsoft 365 environments and the associated management tools and applications
- Experience with security applications and devices (firewalls, Defender, anti-virus, SIEM)
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, InTune, Purview, Entra
- Experience with VMWare, HyperV, Windows Server 2016 and up helpful
- Experience with IBM iSeries helpful
- Experience with Microsoft Azure environments helpful
- Knowledge or understanding of telephony and VOIP principles helpful
- Experience with help desk ticket systems helpful
Education and Experience
- College Degree or IT Certification
- CompTIA A+ 220-1101 / 220-1102
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Other certifications as appropriate
Other Information
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised – required
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. – required
- Must possess a current driver's license and reliable transportation
- This position will have a fair degree of travel amongst the bank branches located in north and west Tennessee to support end-users and projects
- This position is a customer facing and customer interaction position. The role is on-site.
- Occasional exceptions for exigent circumstances may be made
- Nights and weekend work are expected as necessary
