We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Information Technology to lead our technology strategy and execution. Position Summary
The Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology strategy, infrastructure, and innovation across the organization. This leader will play a critical role in shaping the future of BR Williams through the implementation of scalable, secure, and forward-thinking IT solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, strategic vision, and the leadership skills necessary to drive transformation and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT roadmap aligned with business goals. Establish governance frameworks to guide technology initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational change.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Architect and maintain a secure, scalable, and resilient IT infrastructure, including on-premises systems, cloud platforms, networks, and enterprise applications.
- Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
- Evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies (e.g., AI, automation, cloud computing) to improve operational efficiency and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Team Development:
- Lead and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Oversee IT budgets and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective investments that deliver high performance and reliability.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Implement robust cybersecurity protocols, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Vendor & Partner Relations:
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, ensure optimal service delivery and value from external providers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with business units to understand their technological needs and deliver tailored solutions that enhance productivity and performance.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure IT effectiveness and report progress to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in Information Technology, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing enterprise-level IT operations and infrastructure. Experience in the logistics, transportation, or trucking industry is highly preferred and considered a strong asset.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure (e.g., Windows Server, MS SQL, Active Directory, MS365), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), networking (e.g., Cisco, Meraki), cybersecurity, and enterprise software systems.
- Strategic Vision:
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate technological trends and translate them into actionable strategies that drive business value.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Strong leadership, change management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, ITIL, or equivalent is desirable.
