Network and IT Support Specialist
Washington, DC Metro location and Remote
SUMMARY
Ensures the stable operation of the in-house (and client provisioned) computer network and all connected PCs and peripherals, including planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyzes and resolves end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provides end user training where required.
· Perform network administration duties including LAN, and wireless configuration
· Assist in the development, and implementation of IT policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery
· Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware software, and peripheral devices
· Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
· Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
· Manage security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems
· Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, and UPSs
· Provide first-hand support, IT training, and troubleshooting to all office staff for IT matters
· Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
· Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
· Develop, document, and train on hardware installation and troubleshooting procedures
· Perform upgrades and configuration changes to computers systems
· Provide initial and/or secondary response to approximately local and remote employees
· Ability to logically troubleshoot and repair computers, peripherals and network devices
· Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP
· Creation/administration of user accounts within an Active Directory
· Utilize image software to load/create standardized computer systems
· Provide installation/configuration of network-based printers
· Installation and configuration of network devices, such as switches or hub
· Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CCNA, Security+, A+, and Network+.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee must occasionally walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and transport, when necessary, provisioned client hardware to law firm (or courthouse) location (within Washington, DC).
Compensation:
Base salary from 70k with an aggressive industry-leading commission structure based on the success of the senior sales team you support.
Performance-based bonuses and other incentives such as trips and events.
