Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Help Desk Technician Intern to join our IT support team. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fully remote, managed service provider (MSP) environment. The Help Desk Technician Intern will be the first point of contact for clients seeking technical assistance and will work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the initial point of contact for clients seeking technical support via phone, email, or remote access.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to software, network systems, and cloud applications.
- Assist with the remote monitoring, deployment, installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and software.
- Document and track issues and resolutions using the company's ticketing system.
- Escalate complex technical problems to senior technicians or appropriate departments.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement improvements to the help desk process.
- Assist in the development and updating of technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues remotely.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Customer-oriented with a keen interest in providing high-quality technical support.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and basic knowledge of IT support tools.
- Previous internship or part-time experience in a help desk or technical support role is a plus.
