Purpose of the RoleThe Construction Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering successful project outcomes by overseeing all aspects of construction project management-from planning and coordination to execution and completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, sustainably, and in line with Worley's ambition to drive innovation and lead the energy, chemicals, and resources sector toward a more sustainable future. The role requires a deep understanding of project objectives, contractual commitments, and industry best practices, ensuring alignment with our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world.
Key Responsibilities- Provide project leadership to ensure construction deliverables are met on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer and contractual expectations.
- Interpret and apply corporate policies, procedures, and project guidelines to ensure consistent execution across the project lifecycle.
- Define clear project goals and develop effective strategies and plans to achieve them, contributing to the sustainable transformation of the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors.
- Act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders to align project milestones with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of customer needs, project scope, and site-specific challenges to proactively address risks and opportunities.
- Guide and mentor project teams by assigning work, reviewing outputs, and providing feedback to maintain high standards of technical quality and operational efficiency.
- Promote and ensure a safety-first culture that prioritizes health, safety, environmental, and community responsibilities.
- Support collaboration across disciplines to implement integrated and data-centric solutions that support Worley's global sustainability commitments.
- Lead project reporting efforts, including cost tracking, progress updates, and risk assessments, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project management tools, systems, and best practices.
Qualifications / Skillset- University degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Extensive experience in construction project management, including demonstrated ability to manage complex deliverables and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of project execution processes, contract administration, and financial controls within engineering or energy-related industries.
- Proven ability to independently make informed decisions, prioritize competing demands, and deliver outcomes in dynamic and challenging environments.
- Experience managing the daily administration of project policies, stakeholder communication, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated capability to influence, negotiate, and build trusted partnerships with internal teams and external clients.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present project strategies and outcomes to diverse audiences, including leadership and partners.
- Proficient in industry-standard project management software, tools, and methodologies, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Committed to driving sustainable project outcomes that align with Worley's ambition to lead in sustainability-related solutions.
- Experience mentoring team members and providing guidance on technical and project matters to support individual and collective growth.
